Ghostbusters

I love the movie Ghostbusters, I even loved Ghostbusters II.  I heard a rumor about a next-gen Ghostbusters game coming out too, but that is beside the point right?  What could be better than Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Harold Ramis getting together to fight supernatural beings?  Slimer is one of the ghosts, and every time I see him in these movies I crack up.  Anyways, Ghostbusters is an amazing comedy that should be seen by all if you have not seen it yet.  If you haven’t why the heck not?  Ghostbusters gets a 4.5 out of 5!

The Goonies

This is a classic film and loved by most people that were around in the 80’s.  The Goonies is a comedy that is about a group of young kids, (about 10, 11 or 12) and three teens (maybe 16, 17) who find themselves thrown into a treasure hunt for One Eyed Willy’s treasure, but are closely pursued by th ‘bad guys’ all a quirky group of terrible thieves.  It is really funny, but it appeals to a lot of 20 something people because that was our era!  I give this movie a 4 out of 5!

Caddyshack

This movie came out in 1980, and is still a comedy classic.  With a cast including Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and more you know it had to be a hit!  Of course my favorite part is the gopher, that thing cracks me up to this day.  This movie is on the list of the best 50 comedies of all time, and when you watch it you will see why.  It is a golf movie, and I do not want to say much more, this is one of those you will have to see it for yourself movies.  4.5 stars out of 5!

The Simpsons Movie

It was awesome that the Simpsons Movie actually came out this year.  It seemed like just another episode of The Simpsons, but they could get away with a little more on the big screen than they can on TV.  The movie is going to be available on DVD on December 18th, which is just in time to buy it for that Simpsons fan in your life for Christmas.  I am pretty excited, because it is going to make a wonderful addition to my DVD collection!

Decorating For Christmas

It is that time of year again when it is time to decorate our homes for the holiday season. One of my favorite things to do is watch good Christmas movies while I am decorating my home. I want to watch A Christmas Story this week, that movie always gets me in the Christmas mood. This year I will be using LED mini lights to decorate with, because after some extensive reading I found that LED lights look brighter, and they actually use less energy! Another great thing about LED lights is the fact that they stay at room temperature, so that is much safer as far as fire safety goes. The LED lights actually even last longer, and they are made out of an excellent plastic instead of glass, which makes it a lot harder to break them, I always seem to break my glass lights! It is time to break out the hot chocolate, A Christmas Story, and my new LED Christmas lights! Maybe they will come up with a LED leg lamp :)

Airplane!

One of the most classic comedies to date, Airplane! is still super funny no matter what kind of sense of humor you have, chances are you will end up laughing at some point. The story is an airplane crew takes ill. Surely the only person capable of landing the plane is an ex-pilot afraid to fly, it is serious, and do not call me Shirley! If you have not seen this movie, quit living under a rock seriously! This movie is one of the best classics! 6 out of 5 stars!

The Jerk

This is like one of my favorite movies of all time. Steve Martin plays as The Jerk, a white man that was raised by a black family goes out to live on his own, when he suddenly becomes rich, and then poor all over again. In the meantime he falls in love with a girl, and so many funny things happen. He finds his “special purpose” and all kinds of hilarious things. My favorite part of the movie is “He hates these cans!” Steve Martin fans and offbeat comedy fans will love this movie, it is more than a classic! 5 out of 5 stars!

Mean Guns

Mean guns is a Classic from about a decade ago. Christopher Lambert and Ice-T star in this B movie from hell. Basically all of these gangsters, hitmen and sharks get thrown in a jail. There is about 60 and only 3 can make it out alive. All 60 people have screwed over the Syndicate one way or another, whether it was stealing or snitching they all die. It is 90 minutes of death and action and i love it.

Tommy Boy

I am a huge Chris Farley fan, he was my favorite actor and I still miss him! Tommy Boy is a hilarious movie about a man who loses his father, and has to take over the family business, but he has people trying to sabotage him and his partner Richard (played by David Spade). The two guys go on a hilarious road trip to try to sell brake pads to save the company. Tommy and Richard are polar opposites, so you know the entire road trip is funny! This is one of those movies that gets better every time that you watch it! 5 out of 5 stars!

Pitch Black

Pitch Black was Vin Diesels big breakthrough. The movie was insane. Basically he was a convict on transport by a dirty bounty hunter. One thing led to another and they had to truck it across a black planet filled with aliens. They only come out at night and Riddick has some pimp night vision so he leads the way. Had some sexy death scenes and was a cool movie in general.Check it out if you get a chance.
