There’s Something About Mary

If you have never seen the movie Theres Something About Mary and you like comedies you are really missing out.  It stars Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller and it is a super awesome and funny movie.  The movie was on television today, and I had forgotten how great the movie really is.  The part where he tries to bring the dog back to life with the cord from the lamp is the best.  This film is highly quoteable!  I give it a 4.5 out of 5!

Deck The Halls

I rented Deck The Halls from Amazon.com to my TiVo the other night, and I have to say other than a few funny parts, the movie was sort of disappointing.  I usually have great things to say about movies, because I am not a really good critic, but this movie had a lot of boring parts and it was just pretty lackluster.  I am happy that I did not actually purchase the DVD which is usually what I do when I want to see something.  You would think a movie with Danny DeVito and Ferris Bueler could make for super funny stuff, but it really did not.  Anyways I am not saying not to watch it, it is a good movie to watch, once.  Just do not buy it!  I give this movie a 2 out of 5 stars.

License To Wed

I love being able to rent movies on my TiVo from Amazon.com, it is so much better than renting a movie from Blockbuster because it is cheaper, and I do not have to return anything.  Last night I rented that new movie License To Wed with Robin Williams, and I really liked it.  I love Robin Williams in his comedy parts.  This couple wants to get married, but in order to get married in his church they must take his wedding course.  It gets really hilarious when the course requires them to take care of these mechanical babies, that are pretty lifelike and a little creepy.  I give this movie a 4 out of 5, and I recommend renting or buying it!

Oh God!

I remember watching Oh God and Oh God Book II when I was younger.  I loved these movies, and now when I picture god for some reason I picture George Burns.  “I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me me.” is a quote from the Oh God movie when God was in court.  It puts things in a different perspective as far as religion goes, and I really like it.  I do not know why I have not found these on DVD yet, I wonder if I would still like the movie as much as I did when I was younger.  I give these movies a 4 out of 5!

Johnny Depp: Sweeney Todd

Johnny Depp is an awesome actor, I love everything that he does. My favorite character that he has played so far would have to be Captain Jack Sparrow, he is so perfect for that part! He really seems like he could almost have been a pirate in a past life or something.

I also liked when Johnny Depp was in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Willy Wonka. He played the best creepy Willy Wonka possible, it always cracked me up when he would make snide comments to the children. He said something like, “Of course you can! Everything in this room is eatable, even *I’m* eatable! But that is called “cannibalism,” my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies.” That line cracks me up every time that I watch it! Johnny Depp is so awesome, I can not wait to see him in the new Tim Burton movie Sweeney Todd.

I know this show was on broadway for awhile, and the barber is supposed to be creepy, which Johnny Depp does so well! You can find out more about the upcoming movie by visiting Sweeney Todd on MySpace or you can visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site! I am really excited to see this movie, I love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, it is a recipe for an excellent movie!

Jurassic Park

I bought the collection with all 3 of the Jurassic Park movies yesterday at Wal-Mart for $20.00.  I watched the first part today, and I forgot what a good movie it really is.  I love how the raptors seem like evil dogs or something.  It just makes you think of what people really could do with DNA, even if a zoo had one vegetarian dinosaur they could make millions.  Anyways, if you have not seen this movie, it is a must see and you can watch it as a family.  (As long as your kids aren’t afraid of dinosaurs!)  This movie is excellent and I give it a 4.5 out of 5!

The Goonies

This is a classic film and loved by most people that were around in the 80’s.  The Goonies is a comedy that is about a group of young kids, (about 10, 11 or 12) and three teens (maybe 16, 17) who find themselves thrown into a treasure hunt for One Eyed Willy’s treasure, but are closely pursued by th ‘bad guys’ all a quirky group of terrible thieves.  It is really funny, but it appeals to a lot of 20 something people because that was our era!  I give this movie a 4 out of 5!

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

I am on the Christmas movie kick, and probably will be until the day after Christmas.  There are still so many movies that I need to buy to add to my festive collection, but yesterday I went to Circuit City and bought National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (the cartoon not the stupid movie).  National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a must have, it is so funny.  I really wish they wouldn’t keep making National Lampoon’s movies though, because the name is getting ruined.  Chevy Chase stars in the Christmas movie, which is a hilarious take on the holidays with our families.  A lot of what happens in the movie we can relate to, and that makes it even better!  This movie gets a 4.5 out of 5 for sure!

<3 Amazon

I just got in one of my shipments from Amazon.com and it contained the movie Jack Frost that I bought for like $4.50.  It stars Michael Keaton and he ends up being a snowman, which no one can believe at first!  It is a really cute movie, and if I’m not mistaken it is still on sale for that cheap on the Amazon website.  This is a great holiday movie to add to the list, I recommend it for young and old people alike!  3.5 stars out of 5!

E.T.

It has been a very long time since I watched the movie E.T., but when I was playing Scene it on the xbox the other day they had a clip from it and it cracked me up.  I actually do not even own this movie on DVD but I am sure that I will very soon!  For those of you who live under a rock, E.T. stands for extra terrestrial or alien.  This alien comes to earth and the government does what it does best, snoops way too much.  A kid named Elliot befriends this alien and they have adventures together.  This is one of the greatest movies ever, 5 stars out of 5!
